Volleyball NB VP Monica Hitchcock pushes Team Canada to Gold Medal Victory at Huntsman World Senior Games

Volleyball New Brunswick's Vice President and Hall of Fame inductee Monica Hitchcock (Saint John) traveled to St. George, Utah , USA for the Huntsman World Senior Games, where Team Canada earned the gold medal in the Women's Volleyball competition.

The double elimination format saw Team Canada relegated from bracket play after suffering a first round loss to Russia, but battled back to face the Russians again to knock them off in the rematch that set up the Championship Final which Canada won 3-0.

Hitchcock will continue training in anticipation of the 2010 USA Open Volleyball Championships in Phoenix, AZ next May.
