New Rules for 2009-2010 season - Net Rule Modification
General
Volleyball Canada has adopted for the 2009-2010 season the new net rule modification that was adopted by the FIVB in September of 2008.
The new Net Rule Modification allows for player contact with the net away from the play. All contact made with the net away from the contact of the ball or that does not impede the opposing team's opportunity at playing the ball will not be faulted. For a video demonstration of the new Net Rule modification, please click on the following link:

Please note during the video demonstration, the examples will have the 2005 Rule Interpretation on the bottom left hand side, while the new 2009 Rule Interpretation will be on the bottom right hand side. Look for "fault" and "no fault"
