Time to register for the 2009 Beach Nationals

The 2009 Beach Volleyball National Championships are quickly approaching and it’s now time to register for athletes from across the country. The Youth and Senior athletes will share the numerous courts of the huge Ashbridges Bay, in Toronto (ON), for the largest ever beach championship. Teams will start playing on August 28th, where all categories will participate in Pool play. On August 29th, the youth and senior division 2 will play the power pools, and the Senior division 1 will end their pool play and start Single elimination. Finally, on August 30th, the Youth and Senior Division 2 teams will finish the tournament in a single elimination round. As for the Senior Division 1 will continue their single elimination. Competing in the Senior Division will be the teams representing Canada internationally, as well as numerous up and coming senior athletes from everywhere in Canada. Prizing money for Senior division 1 is an exiting $6000 and the Senior Division 2 will be competing for $3000 in prize money. In the Youth divisions, Canada’s future will show its talent and energy in the 14U, 16U, 18U, 21U and 24U age divisions. More than 300 teams are expected to travel from across the country for this Volleyball Frenzy. To be eligible to compete in a National Championship, athletes must have participated in a Provincial/Territorial Beach Championship or sanctioned Volleyball Canada program. To register, simply log-on to Volleyball Canada’s registration system, by hitting the registration button located on the right-hand side of your screen.
